About Us
Our Background
Agriculture is the primary livelihood source for more than 60 percent of Liberia’s population and provides sustenance for many households who engage in farming of rubber, rice, oil palm, cocoa, and sugarcane. However, low agricultural productivity results in Liberia importing more than 80 percent of its staple food, making the country vulnerable to global food price volatility. Poorly integrated, the sector lacks basic infrastructure such as machines, farming equipment/tools, farm-to-market roads, fertilizers and pesticides, and food storage capacity. Cassava and rice are the primary staple food crops. The main cash crops and foreign exchange earners are rubber, cocoa, and timber. .

Problem we are Solving
Goal two of the Sustainable Development Goals, developed in 2016, strives for “Zero Hunger” by 2030. Unfortunately, hunger and malnutrition remain a large barrier of development in many regions, including Africa. There are large differences among continents in the prevalence of severe food insecurity. Approximately 27.4% of the population in Africa was classified as severely food insecure in 2016, which is almost four times as high as any other region. Alarmingly, food insecurity is on the rise, specifically in sub-Saharan Africa. From 2014 to 2016, food insecurity increased by about 3% (FAO, 2017) with this alarming stat it can be clearly showing how many peoples die from hunger on our continent.
This Problem is worth solving because , if it is solve we can create a Africa which is self sufficient in Food Productivity and many people won't die from hunger on our continent and lives will be save.
